Return and Refund Policy
- If you cancel your pass before the start of the school year, a full refund will be issued.
- If you move or if your child is transferred to a different school, we will refund the unused portion of your pass, this is prorated by month. LSBTA must be notified within thirty (30) days of a school transfer or relocation for you to be eligible for a refund. All passes must be returned to our office, before a refund is processed.
- Any passes canceled after the start of the year will be pro-rated based on unused months. This must be done before the start of a new month and the passes must be returned to our office before a refund is issued.
- If there is a billing error, LSBTA will issue a refund
- A $35 processing fee will be charged for cancellations after the start of school year, if bus pass is returned. An additional $15 fee will be charged if the bus pass is not returned.
About Us
History
In 1994 the municipalities and school districts in Lamorinda collaborated together to establish a school bus program for the purpose of traffic mitigation.
60% of our funding comes from Measure J, a 1/2 cent sales tax in Contra Costa County distributed by the Contra Costa Transportation Authority. The other 40% of funding comes from parent contributions.
The program currently runs nineteen buses, serving over 1,100 students in the Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda Union School Districts. We currently provide service to the following schools: Glorietta, Sleepy Hollow, Wagner Ranch, OIS, Springhill, Burton Valley, Stanley, Los Perales, Donald Rheem and JM.
During an average school year, the LSBP successfully eliminates an average of 675,000 vehicle trips!
Governing Board
The school bus program is governed by a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) called the Lamorinda School Bus Transportation Agency (LSBTA). The LSBTA is comprised of elected officials from each of the cities and school districts. Meet our current LSBTA Board of Directors.
